The proximity of the mountain range, located in the most interesting part of the former Sudetenland, near the Polish (35 km) and German (100 km) borders, make this place suitable for tourism.
The castle and surrounding English garden are securely tucked away on a high hill. The eastern part of the hill is a picturesque slope to the valley of the Elbe River.
Until 1925, the castle was owned by several noble dynasties. In July 2005, the castle, garden, and surroundings were sold to a Czech company.
